A View from the Bridge

As i'm writing this, i'm still really fangirly. I still feel quite sick just at the memory.

We headed straight to the Duke of York's theatre in the hope of meeting Harry before the show again. We saw some 'professional' autograph hunters (you'll see why I said that later on) who said they were waiting for Hayley Atwell and Ken Stott. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we saw Harry walking down the street on his mobile (he always seems to be on the phone when I see him). We asked if it would be okay to have his autograph and he said yes, just let me finish this phone call. He was saying something about being annoyed (not about us though!). He finished and signed some autographs for us and we got a picture with him. He told me to get in close with him *sighs* We then met a fellow Harry Lloyd fan (Sorry! I forgot to ask your name - Harry had reduced my brain to mush). We stood outside in the hope that he might come out again but he didn't. Now, the 'professional' autograph hunters were stood there (they didn't want Harry) just like lemons. All of the actors walked by, including the ones they wanted, and they didn't even bat an eyelid. Every woman that walked in though, one of them kept feebley calling 'Miss Atwell?' after her. It probably doesn't sound funny but I was cracking up...

We then went into the foyer, bought our programmes and waited to be let in. We were the first ones into the theatre and frankly, it was eerie. I wouldn't like to be in there alone. We got to our seats and I was quite chuffed. We were on the fifth row from the front in the stalls, seats 7 and 8 - right smack in the middle. The safety screen was on when we got in there but after a while they lifted it and revealed quite an impressive house. The theatre filled up and it was near full - just a few seats here and there empty.

They announced that the play would be beginning in a few moments and told everyone to switch their phones off. The play itself was absolutely amazing. I know some reviews have reported of some teething problems but it was really good. Which is more than can be said for the audience. Two phones went off during the first act which was incredibly annoying and extremely rude. But back to the play...

When Harry came on, I was silently squeeing. And when he started talking! He has a very convincing Italian accent. I was sat there with a huge grin plastered on my face.

**SPOILERS & FANGIRL RAMBLING**

I loved his speech when he was going on about getting a blue motorcycle and then when he sang... I was really suprised at how well he could sing, especially with an accent. And when he danced... I have to admit I did get rather envious. Also when Eddie punched him and he fell, I just wanted to run up onto the stage and help him. I loved the line when Catherine asked him if he was hungry, and he replied (words to this effect) "only for something that I can't eat". Pure fangirl bliss.

**END OF SPOILERS**

At the end of the play, all of the actors came on for their bow. Ken Stott got the loudest applause and quite a few wolf-whistles. I obviously clapped louder for Harry but sadly it wasn't as loud as Ken's. The lights came on, we put our coats on and made it out of the theatre as quickly as we could.

We got to the stagedoor where we'd met Harry before and saw him coming with his blue beanie on again (I don't think he likes being blonde). We asked if he could sign our programmes, which he did. We asked if we could have another photo with him and he said yes after he's signed a few more autographs. At which point, a mob of elderly people had gathered saying "Oh here he is! There's my boy!" and pushed us out of the way! He signed their programmes and books and I heard him say that he'll be in Glasgow at the beginning of June. I'm not sure if 'A View from the Bridge' is moving up there for a while or something... I then managed to get another photo with him and then he went off to get some food.

I want to see it again!!!! And, a pretty picture of Harry! Ignore what I look like please. I was extremely tired and I think I went white with the shock..
